YoPratiqo — Refund Policy and 12-Month Access

Version: 1.0 · Last updated: May 2026

⚠️ Important: This document supplements the Pratiqo Terms of Service and applies only to YoPratiqo self-paced courses (one-time purchases). It does not replace the Terms. Where a mandatory statutory warranty conflicts with anything below, the statutory warranty prevails.

1. What you are buying

A YoPratiqo purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access the content of the purchased module. It is not a sale of the content itself.

  • Access is bound to your Pratiqo account. Account sharing, resale, and content redistribution are prohibited.
  • Cours Pratiqo Inc. retains all intellectual property rights in the content, visuals, audio, code, and pedagogy of the module.
  • No permanent download of the content is guaranteed — playback is delivered through the YoPratiqo platform.

YoPratiqo is an educational preparation product. Modules may help you practise, discover a language, or prepare for a conversation with a teacher, but Pratiqo does not guarantee fluency, exam success, an immigration result, an employment result, or a booking with a teacher. The refund policy applicable to paid digital modules remains subject to legal review before any broader paid rollout.

1.1 Disclosure — Content generated by artificial intelligence

Synthetic voice and audio: Some audio elements in YoPratiqo modules (narrations, pronunciation examples, dialogues) are generated by artificial-intelligence tools using synthetic voices (for example, text-to-speech services). This content was produced for educational purposes and may not faithfully reproduce every accent, register, intonation, or nuance of a native human speaker. Pratiqo does not represent that synthetic audio content is equivalent to live human instruction.

AI-assisted content: Portions of the pedagogical content (texts, quiz questions, vocabulary cards) may have been prepared or reviewed with the assistance of artificial-intelligence tools, then validated by the Pratiqo team. Pratiqo remains responsible for the final published content.

No guarantee of linguistic accuracy: YoPratiqo modules aim to introduce basic skills. They do not guarantee dialectal accuracy, the absence of errors, or compliance with any official linguistic standard. For advanced learning goals, Pratiqo recommends pairing the modules with a human teacher via the Pratiqo marketplace.

1.2 Independent educational service — No government affiliation

YoPratiqo does not guarantee:

  • fluency, mastery, or any specific language level;
  • success on an official exam, test, or evaluation (TEF, TCF, DELE, etc.);
  • any immigration, program-admission, or employment outcome;
  • recognition by any official francization program or government authority;
  • a result from a lesson with a Pratiqo teacher.

Independent educational service: YoPratiqo is a self-paced learning tool. It is not affiliated with the Quebec Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI), the Quebec Ministry of Education (MEQ), nor any official subsidized francization program. It does not replace a recognized government program, does not guarantee any official linguistic exam or evaluation result, and does not constitute immigration, legal, or administrative advice.

2. 12-month access — defined

The purchase of a YoPratiqo module provides personal, non-transferable access to the content for a fixed period of twelve (12) months from the purchase date, subject to mandatory legal rights.

2.1 Scope of access

During that 12-month period, you may access the purchased module through your Pratiqo account, without recurring fees for that specific module.

2.2 Technical availability and mandatory rights

Pratiqo may need to adapt, correct, temporarily interrupt, or remove certain features for technical, legal, safety, or compliance reasons. If a material interruption affects paid access during the applicable period, Pratiqo will handle the situation according to mandatory statutory rights and this policy.

3. 30-day satisfaction guarantee

3.1 Conditions

  • Window: 30 calendar days from the purchase date shown on the Stripe receipt. If day 30 falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or Quebec public holiday, the deadline rolls to the next business day.
  • Eligibility: you must have completed 25% or fewer of the lessons in the purchased module. Progress is measured by the ratio lessons completed / total lessons in the module. Time spent, quiz attempts, and flashcards reviewed are not factored into this calculation.
  • Limit: one satisfaction-guarantee request per buyer and per module.

3.2 How to request a refund

  • From the platform: My account → My payments and receipts → Request a refund.
  • Or by email to support@pratiqo.ca with your order number and the reason.

3.3 Decision and timing

  • The refund is issued via Stripe to the original payment method.
  • Time to appear on the statement: 5 to 10 business days after issuance.
  • Taxes (GST, QST) charged on the original purchase are included in the refunded amount.
  • Multi-currency: the refund is issued in the original purchase currency, not in the current display currency on your account. Foreign-exchange differences do not entitle you to an adjustment.

4. EU right of withdrawal (14 days)

This section applies to buyers residing in the European Union, regardless of where Pratiqo is established.

YoPratiqo content is digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, delivered immediately upon payment.

In accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU (art. 16(m)) and Directive (EU) 2019/770 (art. 16), the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content delivered immediately may only be waived if the buyer:

  1. expressly ticks the following checkbox at the time of payment:

"I request immediate delivery of the digital content and I acknowledge that I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal as of that date."

  1. and confirms having been informed of this waiver before completing the purchase.

Without that checkbox ticked, the EU buyer keeps the full 14-day right of withdrawal and is entitled to a full refund on request within that window, even if more than 25% of lessons have been completed.

Implementation note (to be validated by counsel before any EU sale): The dedicated EU checkbox in the checkout interface remains to be implemented before any public sale of YoPratiqo in the European Union. As long as that checkbox is not implemented and active, no waiver of the EU right of withdrawal is deemed to have been collected, and the 14-day withdrawal right applies in full to any purchase made from the EU.

4.2 How to exercise the right of withdrawal (without ticked checkbox)

An EU buyer who has not ticked the waiver checkbox may exercise their right of withdrawal by writing to support@pratiqo.ca within 14 days of the purchase with the heading "Exercise of the right of withdrawal — order no. [number]". No justification is required within that window.

4.3 Cumulation with the 30-day commercial guarantee

The 30-day commercial guarantee in section 3 applies in parallel to EU buyers who waived their withdrawal right.

5. Minors

5.1 Quebec

  • Under article 157 of the Civil Code of Québec, a minor under 14 years of age cannot enter into a consumer contract alone. Any YoPratiqo purchase by a buyer declaring to be under 14 requires prior authorization from a parent or legal guardian.
  • Under article 163 of the Civil Code of Québec, a parent or legal guardian may request rescission of a purchase made by their minor child without authorization. The refund is then full and is not subject to the conditions of section 3 (30-day window, 25% cap).
  • Minors aged 14 to 17 may contract for needs ordinary and usual to their age (art. 157). The parent or guardian may still seek rescission if the contract causes prejudice to the minor (art. 163).

5.2 Outside Quebec

For buyers residing outside Quebec, local minor-protection rules apply (English Canadian common law, EU consumer law, etc.). Pratiqo cooperates in good faith with any rescission request supported by reasonable evidence of minority and lack of parental authorization.

6. Exclusions

The 30-day satisfaction guarantee is not granted in the following cases:

  • Repeated abuse of the guarantee across linked accounts (same card details, same IP address, same device, same primary email address).
  • Accounts closed for fraud, Terms violation, or chargeback abuse.
  • Requests filed more than 30 days after purchase, unless the EU provision in section 4 or the minors provision in section 5 applies.

7. Progress data and privacy

YoPratiqo may process the following data: module progress, lesson completion, quiz scores, flashcard activity, audio interactions, purchases, clicks on teacher calls to action, and learning-difficulty signals.

This data is processed to provide, secure, and improve the service. It is not shared with a Pratiqo teacher without your prior explicit consent, to the extent that this sharing is offered by the platform.

For more details, see the Privacy Policy.

8. Statutory warranties preserved

The commercial guarantee in section 3 is in addition to, and never a substitute for, mandatory statutory warranties, including:

  • Consumer Protection Act (Quebec): s. 37 (warranty of quality), s. 38 (commercial warranties), s. 53 (warranty of normal use).
  • Federal Competition Act (Canada) on false or misleading representations.
  • Directive (EU) 2019/770 on the conformity of digital content and digital services.

If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory statutory warranty applicable to the buyer, the statutory warranty prevails.
